finding balance

requires creativity

Optimizing wellbeing is a balancing act at the best of times and a fight for survival at the worst, especially for those fighting chronic illness or supporting those who do. We have to work to create balance, sometimes using iterative attempts of trial and error to find what works for us. Join us here for ideas and discussions about nutrition, exercise, meditation, relaxation techniques, and more.

Welcome to Elementally Essential

This website, in tandem with our pages on Instagram and Facebook, is building a community of people seeking more robust health. We\'ll bring you news articles and ideas about nutrition and fitness for those who are aging or facing physical challenges, and occasionally, we might present products we think could help in some cases.

As we grow, we hope to host guest bloggers and vloggers, including doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and massage therapists. We also want to explore alternative and complementary modalities like reiki and energy work, yoga, aromatherapy, and meditation. More doctors and medical facilities are acknowledging that non-traditional complementary techniques have a place in treating the whole person.

Why am I sharing this journey?

I\'m writing this in early August 2024. There\'s no doubt in my mind that most of us experienced more health-related challenges in the last four years than we ever experienced before. I\'ve personally been processing the last 15 years. For our purposes in this introduction, I experienced a lot more medically than I ever thought I would.

Who am I?

I\'m Lynn. Nice to meet you.

Over the past 15 years, I advocated for four individuals who were very important to me and had complex medical cases. That\'s a story in itself. I talked at length with the people I represented to understand what they wanted to accomplish.

It became my job to advocate for and enforce their choices to their healthcare providers - sometimes even if the provider disagreed. They needed a voice when they were unable to speak. As their friend and loved one, I was on their side, even if I would have chosen differently.

The experiences, while grueling, allowed me to learn from some of the best doctors, nurses, therapists, technicians, and social workers in the healthcare industry. But we learned from all our experiences, good and bad.

While this project may begin as a solo act, I hope some of the many outstanding professionals I\'ve met will contribute and comment. I hope this space blesses people with knowledge, ideas, hope, camaraderie, and inspiration.

Cheers, Lynn
